On the 30^th of January, reports surfaced on local media stating that a man had brutally murdered his daughter in the Bay region of southwestern Somalia.

Initial reports stated that the father’s wife, the girl’s stepmother, had an argument with the late victim which caused the father to physically abuse his daughter.

The young girl’s biological mother stated that the father had allegedly tied his daughter’s arms and legs with a chain and left her alone in a room for three days without any food or water.

The victim, who was identified as Faisa Abukar Ibrahim was 14-years-old.

According to the local police station commander of the Buurhakaba district Ibrahim Yarow Haydar, the suspect has been arrested.
