On the 11^th of October, reports surfaced on various Somali news websites stating that a woman was shot dead in the northern town of Burco. The victim, who was a local resident, was identified as Ugbaad Cali Cabdullaahi.

According to Ugbaad’s family, the victim’s body was found showing signs of rape. Ugbaad is survived by her three children.

Local police have arrested one suspect as the case is still under investigation.
