Muna Kuri’s Husband Heads To Trial On Murder Charge

A Somali man was ordered to stand trial on the charge that he murdered his wife in an apartment in San Diego, in the city of California in the United States of America.

On the 4th of March 2019, Muna Kuri’s lifeless body was found by her sister in an apartment in the City Heights neighbourhood of San Diego. According to the local police, Kuri had suffered suspicious wounds to her upper body”. The death was classified as a homicide.

Kuri’s husband, Abdiaziz Kerow went missing after the discovery of his wife’s body in their home. This led to a warrant being issued for his arrest.

Amina Salad, who is the victim’s sister, claimed that Kerow was responsible for her murder. Salad stated: “You killed her. We all know you did. Why run? You thought you were man enough and strong enough to her, right? Well come out. Show your face!”.

Kerow was arrested in Panama on the 20th of March 2019 and extradited to the United States, where he was taking into San Diego Central Jail on the suspicion of killing Muna Kuri.

A preliminary hearing was held on Friday the 28th of February 2020 for the prosecution to present evidence against Kherow.

During the hearing, Salad testified that she couldn’t reach her sister on the 3rd of March 2019, which led to her calling Kerow. She states that he yelled “your sister did me wrong” claiming that Kuri had made a sex tape with another man.

Deputy medical examiner Dr. Bethann Schaber testified that Kuri died of blunt force trauma.

Kherow is being held on $5 million bail and is due to return to court on March 12.
